Paso Fino Horses |

|
The Paso Fino horse is considered to be “The Smoothest Riding Horse in the World” Over 500 years ago the foundation stock of the breed was used by remount stations of the Spanish Conquistador. These dependable, hardy little horses carried their riders over mountains, open ranges and through dense jungles. They became known as los caballos de paso fino,“The horse with the fine step” The original breeders from Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Columbia and Venezuela had no need for a large horse since they were not large themselves. Instead, great pride was placed in the appearance of the horse and execution or the Paso gait. The Paso Fino was bred to be an elegant horse that carried itself with much pride or”brios”, who exhibited a unique short strided, rapid, perfect 4 beat rhythm footfall. Today’s Paso Fino comes in all sizes and colors. He can be as tall as 16 hands, for those who desire height or as small as 13 hands, for whose who do not consider height important.. The much prized gait of the Paso Fino is natural. It is not uncommon for a newborn foals to be gaiting shortly after birth. The gait may be refined through training but no artificial equipment or special shoeing is used. Please, contact us for a listing of our beautiful Paso Fino horses available for sale.
